Nicholas Hahn sure seems concerned that Pope Francis
get his Obama mission trip right. See my
post “He will certainly not care for you” posted August 7, 2015 on this blog. In that one, he said that “Pope Francis should avoid making any imprudent statements
during his visit to the U.S. in September, lest he get further entangled in the
president’s agenda.” In this one, he
says “Pope
Francis would do well not to forget his own history and consider
canceling the trip. The pope should re-examine the optics of
putting a dictator over his flock.”
I think I made a Freudian slip when I quoted Hahn saying “Pope Francis would do well not to forget his own history and consider canceling the trip. The pope should re-examine the optics of putting a dictator over his flock.”
ReplyDeleteHahn was talking about the pope skipping Cuba and Castro. He was not talking about canceling the entire trip because of the dictator in the U.S.
